Remember Your Strengths | Who You Are?

You have natural strengths (your way of thinking, talents and abilities) that you were born with and can use to live a wonderful, happy life. All you have to do is take some time to discover what you’re good at doing and make sure you do those things every day. Focus on the thoughts and actions that bring you joy and fulfillment and you won’t have to worry as much about doing things that you’re not interested in doing.

See the World from More than One Perspective

When you see the world from more than one perspective you increase your ability to be happy in life because you have access to more information and ideas. People often get stuck thinking that things can only be a certain way when there really are many other possibilities. There is a huge variety of thoughts and ideas available to you that can help you live a balanced and fulfilling life. If something isn’t going very well, you can choose to try different approaches rather than staying stuck doing what you’ve always done. What will you do to entertain new perspectives?

Your View of the World

Your view of the world affects how happy you’re likely to be. Here are two examples of different perspectives:

  1. The world is a scary place where people are trying to hurt me and I have to fend for myself.
  2. The world is generally safe and there are many people who will support me during my journey.

Think about which perspective more closely reflects yours. Each day is an opportunity to choose how you will direct your thoughts and emotions. The way you decide to perceive the world creates your reality. If you move in a positive direction you’ll experience beneficial results

A World of Possibilities

Anytime you encounter a difficult to resolve situation in life you have two choices:

  1. Keep trying the same stuff that hasn’t worked in the past.
  2. Think in terms of new possibilities, what else you can do.

You don’t have to deal with every challenge with the same tools, you can try new and different approaches. Happy people understand that there will always be obstacles in life but that there are a many different ways to deal with any of them. What will you do to be open to a world of possibilities?

What You Believe about the World

One of the best ways to be happy is to be aware of your beliefs about the world. Think how you might live if you believed one of these things:

  • The world is a hard place that will beat me up.
  • I’ll never succeed at anything I want to do so why try?
  • I’m not worth anything.
  • I have no talents.
  • I’ll settle for whatever comes my way.

What if you believed one of these things instead:

  • The world is full of opportunities.
  • I’ll keep working until I’m successful.
  • I’m a worthwhile person.
  • I’m talented.
  • I will create my own amazing life.

You get to decide what you believe about the world and your life will move in that direction. You choose whether your beliefs that limit your growth and success. What belief will you start changing today so you can be happier?

Expect Obstacles

When obstacles present themselves during your journey you have two choices:

  1. See them as part of your experience and deal with them in a positive way.
  2. Fall apart and run away screaming.

A significant part of being happy is accepting that obstacles are a part of life. When you expect that things will not always go your way, and have confidence in your ability to deal with any challenge, you become a happier and more confident person.
